 | Inner Mongolia University (IMU), founded in 1957 in Hohhot, was the first university established by the CPC in minority regions. It began with strong leadership, including President Ulanhu and renowned scholars like Li Jitong. Designated a key university in 1978, it joined Project 211 (1997) and the "Double-First-Class" initiative (2017). IMU has 23 schools, a development advisory council, and affiliated hospitals and schools. It is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Inner Mongolia government.
